About Muriel

My Story

I've been told that I am strong, that I am a survivor. It didn’t always feel that way to me, but the reality is that when I stop and think about my life and what I did survive, I know that the truth is evident. I have been a survivor and a woman of courage.

I've experienced many of the difficult situations my clients are struggling with.

I've had plenty of days of wanting to stay in bed with the covers over my head, and a few that I actually spent that way. But beyond that, I've had many more days when I pulled myself up and out, finding the sun or the stars through the curtain of fear and tears.

I have needed to re-invent myself many times. I've had to believe in myself as everything I knew and was and had devoted myself to for twenty or thirty years disappeared.

And as I go on, despite all that has happened to me, or because of it all, I have learned that there is life and a new path and a different me beyond the pain and feelings of hopelessness.

The way things are is not the way things have to be.

It was suddenly clear to me that my strength could be used to help others live through their pain, their hopelessness, their desperation and loneliness. Their loss.

The desire to help others became a passion. If everything I went through in my life can enable me to salvage another life, then I will have the satisfaction of helping others to go on and survive their losses better than they might without me.

Muriel B. Haber, President and Founder of Haber Resources International, is a certified Master Coach and a member of the International Coaching Federation.

In addition to a BA and MA in psychology, Muriel has a wealth of business experience. She was a principal and partner in M.H. Holdings Inc., a consulting firm. Previously, she was CEO of Haber Realty Company, responsible for over 1700 residential units in greater New York.

Muriel is a graduate of Dr. Suzanne Skiffington's One to One Coaching Program and completed the Certificate of Applied Behavioral Coaching. She has completed the required work and is designated a Certified Master Coach (CMC). Her training in organizational coaching, including the follow-up mentoring, has provided her with the skills to work with professionals, companies, executives and organizations. She is listed in the Graduate/Alumni Register/Directory.

Muriel also studied with MentorCoach, an organization that trains mental health professionals how to transition their clinical training into successful coaching skills. She continues to take MentorCoach classes to expand her knowledge and skills.

Muriel is a member of the International Coaching Federation, the governing body of personal, executive and life coaches worldwide. My membership assures my clients that I will abide by the ICF’s ethical standards of coaching, and participate in various programs to further the reputation of the coaching profession.
